Masterpiece is the debut Japanese mini album by MISAMO — TWICE's first official sub-unit, comprising the group's three Japanese members Mina, Sana, and Momo. Released July 26, 2023 via Warner Music Japan, it marks a milestone as the first TWICE sub-unit release. The 7-track all-Japanese album comes in six versions: Deluxe, Normal, ONCE JAPAN, and three individual member editions (Mina, Sana, Momo). The Deluxe and member editions are notably inclusion-rich — the member editions include a CD+DVD with member-specific content, visual booklet, sleeve case, member B5 portrait art card (first press only), 1 of 5 member selfie photocards (first press only), 3 member postcards, a hologram+original group photocard, 5 member polaroid photocards, a lyric card, and a clear card, with each member's DVD containing unique making-of and short film content. The Normal edition includes a lyrics booklet and 1 of 19 selfie photocards. The album was over a year in development, with all three members contributing to the creative process — Momo co-wrote "Funny Valentine," Mina co-wrote "It's Not Easy For You," and Sana co-wrote "Rewind You." Pre-release singles "Marshmallow" (June 16) and title track "Do Not Touch" (July 14) preceded the full release. The debut showcase across Osaka and Yokohama sold out 40,000 tickets from over 600,000 applications. Masterpiece debuted #1 on the Oricon weekly chart with 154,880 copies — the highest first-week sales by a female artist in Japan in 2023 — and received RIAJ Platinum certification. MISAMO also performed "Do Not Touch" at the 74th NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen in December 2023.
