Takedown
"Takedown" is a subunit single performed by Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung of TWICE, released June 20, 2025 via Republic Records as the lead single from the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack — Sony Pictures Animation's animated musical fantasy film produced for Netflix. The trio perform the end credits version of the song, a bilingual Korean-English rap-inflected diss track originally written for the film's fictional K-pop group Huntrix to confront their rival demon boy band, the Saja Boys. The TWICE version features a more polished pop arrangement with layered three-part harmonies over the same punchy electronic production. It marks the first song released by Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung as a trio on their own. The song was also included on the deluxe edition of TWICE's fourth Korean studio album This Is For (July 2025) and performed live at Lollapalooza 2025 and on the North American leg of the This Is For World Tour. For collectors, the primary physical item is the limited 7-inch vinyl single released June 27, 2025 exclusively through Republic Records, featuring the TWICE version on Side A and the Huntrix (HUNTR/X) version on Side B — with chibi-style artwork of the trio. The full KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack was also released on CD (August 8, 2025) and standard vinyl (October 13, 2025), both containing both versions of the song. "Takedown" debuted at Billboard Hot 100 #86, marking Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung's first individual entries on the chart. KPop Demon Hunters itself became Netflix's most-watched original title of all time with over 500 million views and received Academy Award nominations for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song.
